Crosslake, MN – Watercolor Workshop – Painting Lake Country Landscapes

LOCATION:  Kicks On Route 66 Gallery/Studio in Crosslake, Minnesota.

DATE & TIME:  August 15-16, 2019; 10a – 4p both days

All levels welcome. Demonstrations will be intermediate to advanced.

$150, bring your own supplies, or $200 if basic supplies are provided for you.

OR, $75/$100 per day if registering for one day only.

This workshop will help you to “loosen up” while finding your unique painting style.  Our tendency as artist is to put too much detail in our paintings, only to be frustrated with the results.  Paul will show you how to see the big shapes, simplify values, and then execute your painting quickly to achieve dynamic results.  We will cover drawing, values, composition, color and seeing the whole.  Through numerous demonstrations, you will see how to paint lake country landscapes, water, reflections, moods, skies, buildings and more.  There will be time for individual feedback.  Special importance will be giving to painting light and shadows effectively.

Bring reference material $ 2-3 digital images of your recent work for Paul to review with you.  A suggested watercolor supply list will be provide upon registration.

Paul Oman has received nation and in international recognition for his work in watercolor since 2010, including invitation to the National Watercolor Society’s International Open Exhibition in 2017.  Taking up work as a full-time artist since 2011, Paul collaborates to paint for live performance on large-scale canvases for audiences around the world.
