Description
The long Season of Pentecost extends for nearly one-half of the Church Year. The liturgical color is green, representing the color of growth and life. During this part of the Church Year we hear stories of the birth, life and growth of The Christian Church from Jerusalem to the world. Notice the green plant growing upward with roots and seeds extending downward, indicating more growth to come. Also notice the heads of wheat ready for harvest as this is part of the rhythm of our lives and The Church. It is faith that God plants and gives root in the lives of people of all nations around the world. These people are moving outward, both into the world and towards the cross of Christ with the promised presence of the Holy Spirit in their midst, represented by the dove. The horizon depicts the silhouette of the merging of both urban and rural communities as the Gospel knows no bounds but is for all in all places of the world.
